Colophon

Me.

Hello,

My name is Joseph Cotterill. I graduated into a recession with a First in International Relations from the London School of Economics. I’m currently an editorial intern for the Royal United Services Institute.

This isn’t really a blog – it’s a memex.

I’ve always hated how you can read a book and think you’ve been absorbed or even changed by it, but find you can’t remember even basic plot details or the names of characters a year on. Hence why I like the idea of generally using digital tools as a memory extender.

So, I want you to enjoy the posts here as a memory extension unit, for you, me, and the culture in general. I know that’s a bit pretentious.

I think it would be cool to try and keep as many posts as possible on the themes of historical change, legacy, and the art of the long view; and across as many subjects as possible.

I’ll also be setting essay questions.

You can always help me by sending interesting things, criticism, or just saying hello at joseph AT josephcotterill.com. Thanks.

Production notes

This memex was built using Andrew Thompson’s Minimous WordPress theme.

I’ve adapted the design into a more neutral interface. I honestly didn’t mean to end up with the International Typographic Style. Let me know what you think could be improved.
